Mrs. Fish’s next-oldest brother is a police officer, so her sympathies are understandable. The problem is, her brother is a totally different animal from the assholes running the show down in Missouri. I tried telling her about the things the police have said and done that makes their motives suspect, but she handwaved it away.

People who are cops or related to cops have a very, very difficult time imagining that there might be institutional problems in law enforcement.
