I have, as yet, an unblemished record as regards inaugurations. I’ve never seen one. This may come as a surprise to some, but past inaugurals have been on work days, and for some strange reason the powers that were did not deem it an occasion so momentous as to deserve time off.

I shall, no doubt, miss this one as well. I’ve things to do that have more impact on my immediate well-being than which of a bad lot of politicians sits in the oval office. Should something unexpected happen I’ll have to hope that one of the news media may have assigned a copy boy to jot down his or her impressions of the occasion.
