Have you ever seen so many Hamas flags being displayed in Western Democracies? have you ever seen so many putative Democracies support (at least tacitly) a terrorist organization?
I don’t have to like it, but I do have to tell the truth. This incursion (calling it a “war” is an insult to real wars) has done more for the popular support of Hamas than anything else Israel could have done.
Much of the stench of defeat could be erased if just once Israel actually achieved one of it’s goals for once and for all. Refusing to allow Hamas to imprison, and no doubt brutalize, Gilad Shalit would be a sign that Israel has learned the error of their ways, but that didn’t happen.
