Eventually, China will collapse.

I won’t say much if the Uyghurs, Tibetans and Mongols want revenge for 60+ years of mistreatment. The Han have treated them horrifically.

No nation has yet lasted forever, but China has endured. Their civilization has stood about as long as any, and right now they’re moving smartly up in the world.

China has, in the last 40 years or so, gone from a third world nation to verging on first world. GDP has been doubling once every 8 years or so. The Party has managed to escape the trap of ruling over a centrally misplanned economy; it now allows a burgeoning more-or-less private sector.

Corruption is rife, the authorities treat everybody badly, Han or minority, and environmental problems are severe and getting worse. But this is not a recipe for collapse any time in this century.

China has never been stronger. Her cautious international policy is insurance against adventures that could rock the boat and derail her economic progress. She’s diversified out of the dollar, and is buying up raw materials, mines, and so on all across Africa and in other places as well.

China’s GDP will surpass that of the United States in this decade, most likely. They’re already number two, ahead of Japan. There’s no collapse in the tea leaves I’m reading.
