Still, I believe the American public has no appetite for yet another war, and I also believe Biden knows this.

Putin knows this too but he and his oligarch buddies look at the world as a way to become obsessively rich, so to them all that matters is manipulating whoever they need in order to build some great paternalistic Russian empire.

Here’s one of the longer running questions for the USA: on whose side should we be in international conflicts?

I for one am not willing to see a world war over Ukraine. Sorry, Ukraine. But in a world with 8 billion people all struggling to survive I’m more inclined to be worried about how to survive myself.

Cold hearted? Maybe. But I have no idea how to ever win a land war with Russia. It’s not going to happen.

And it’s not worth trying.
