I don’t know what it was like for anyone else in California, but for me…

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, from ‘71 to ‘93, and for the large chunk of the early part, you couldn’t swing a dead rat without hitting a racial supremacist. Whether it be NOI or Neo-Nazi, or some other brand new thing that you just heard of, and wished like hell you hadn’t.

Ain’t no special place, full of unicorns, surfers, and sentient plant life. It’s full of the same old assholes you’d find anywhere else on the planet. And just enough cool folk to help you forget the knee deep garbage you’re standing in. Just like anywhere else.
