Granted, it’s been a long, long time since I’ve watched the show with any regularity (as in “i was a kid and it was in reruns then”), even though I’ve recently acquired the entire series for my media server, so here goes:

Archie was conservative, a bigot, and often not firing on all cylinders, but I also think Lear had him written well enough that Archie didn’t stand for bullshit the likes that surrounds Trump.

Fox news didn’t exist then.

I’d guess you’d have to look at what year of Archie we’re referring to. Early Archie would have totally been MAGA, he was just shy of David Duke.

Later years, after Edith died, he wasn’t so much in the vein of the KKK… He’d changed and mellowed by then.
