re: #396 Killgore Trout

No, America is not angry. Remember when 100’s of thousands would show up to antiwar war demonstrations during the Bush years? That was an angry America. The Tea Parties can’t get more than a few thousand to show up in DC to protest Obama’s policies such as healthcare reform, bailouts, stimulus, etc. His approval numbers are still around 45-50. America might be frustrated but they are not angry.

I have seen this a couple of times now and it confuses me. The TP is the end of the Republican party, so strong that it will drive it into the dirt, so many republicans are TP’ers…on and on. Now you claim it is a small movement.
At the same time, when ever I bring up all the left wing fringers that protested Bush and helped change congress/elect Obama, I am told that there really were not that many of them, yet here you say there were hundreds of thousands at marches.

Now, I know that you personally, are not the one who says (types) these things to me, you just happened to present the exact opposite of what many have posted here.

Hence my confusion. Is the TP meaningful or not? Were the fringe lefties meaningful or not?
