Random observation:

I’m surprised “preppers” (formerly known as survivalists) don’t pay more attention to bicycles. They do put a lot of effort to selecting the perfect “survival vehicle,” normally a monster 4X4 for which they will somehow find fuel when ammunition, food, and common pharmaceuticals are in short supply.
