Yes.That was an excellent example of the danger for our country, when a president’s “generals” adapt strategy, to fit his political needs.

The great error was the belief we had to stop communism everywhere, no matter the cost, or we’d lose all of Asia. The most LBJ should’ve done was help the South Vietnamese fight for themselves. Going back earlier, we should’ve told the French to get the hell out of Vietnam and worked with Ho Chi Minh.
