Funnily enough, well-known Czech comedy actor Jan Werich was originally cast to play Ernst Blofeld in You Only Live Twice.

After five days, they replaced him with Donald Pleasance. Werich looked more like a grandfatherly Santa Claus than Ian Fleming’s supervillain criminal mastermind.
