The whole “250k ain’t rich in all areas” meme is bullshit.

I live in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I previously lived in San Francisco.

My wife and I, combined, make about 130K a year. We feel quite, quite well off. We get to eat out at fancy restaurants, buy ourselves nice new clothes and fancy mid-modern furniture, and rent a roomy one bedroom.

If we had 120K extra, gross? We’d be very, very well off. I don’t even know what we’d do with it.
