I love Senator Kaine but I think it was a misstep since I think he was IMO wrongly perceived as a boring white guy. He really isn’t but that label stuck.

Yeah this has occurred to me, too. I liked the pick a lot initially and it was a sensible pick. And maybe it helped carry VA which was important, but looking back, it seems like a missed opportunity.
