Going to the Folsom Street Fair to get a summary view of the gay community is like going to Burning Man to get a summary view of the heterosexual community.

Of course if you photograph human behavior in the Bay Are it is natural to get an extreme view of any number of groups. That’s the problem of course and so if one sees said photo of Folsom Street Fair they’re bound to get a minority representation. Things change vastly outside of the Bay Area.
