re: #408 Whack-A-Mole

I wasn’t around for this morning’s dustup with Dark Falcon, but I’m going to chime in late here:

It’s really pointless to castigate Dark Falcon about his views towards the GOP and think you can change his mind.

He’s intelligent enough to see the racism, misogyny, selfishness, and hatred that his party has to offer and has enough morals and scruples to know it’s wrong, yet will still vote to put those people in power. He might follow through on his pledge to not vote for Trump (though I personally harbor my doubts about that) but he could never bring himself to vote for a Democrat, even if that Democrat were a better person and had infinitely more to offer the country. He has completely bought into the nonsense that liberals and Democrats are the enemy, to the point that he puts party loyalty above the needs of himself, his fellow citizens, and the country as a whole and do it enthusiastically and without hesitation.

The idea that the GOP is good and Democrats are bad isn’t a political view for him. It’s an article of faith, almost a religious belief. You aren’t going to be able to convince him of the contrary with facts, logic, and common sense, any more than you could convince Ken Ham that evolution is real or Bryan Fisher that gays aren’t lurking behind every tree waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting.

DF doesn’t need convincing - he needs deprogramming.

He will never be deprogrammed. This all seems to be much deeper than that. Ingrained from birth and never to be challenged.
