A very common and disturbing sentiment among American conservatives seems to be that when it comes to discussing cases of child abuse, all of a sudden attacks are waged against liberals exposing kids to sexuality (via sex education, free contraceptives, etc.). As if liberal sexual morals somehow are conducive to child abuse. I really don’t get that.

The basic train of thought is that liberal sexual morals enable people to be free to do what they please sexually, which includes the more perverted aspects. What the conservatives don’t realize is that 1) perverts will be perverts, and 2) liberals don’t support child molestation, rape, etc., any more than conservatives do. Once again, it’s all about balance; proper sexual education without preaching free license to do as one pleases.
