The case was funded by a billionaire who basically gave Hogan all the money needed to kill Gawker. Without that kind of backing, there’d probably have been an undisclosed settlement for a couple million dollars and Gawker would have continued operations.

Yes, Thiel made the ground level and allowed justice to take place. The rest was the court’s job based on Gawker’s behavior.
