Look at this experience of losing a job as a positive experience. Right now, this is probably the last thing you can imagine…. BUT, having been down the road you are now on, I recommend it.

You are a young guy and you have the rest of your life waiting for you.

Take this opportunity while you have the time to look inward and find out where your passions lie. Buy a book or two that will walk you through the process of self-analysis (ie. aptitude tests). There are lots of them out there.

As an alternative, you could spend some money and take a standardized aptitude test. I did at the Milwaukee Jewish Vocational Center (I googled this place but didn’t find it exactly….. this was a long time ago and I may not be remembering the name exactly right…)

Anyway, when I did this, I scored number one in xxxxx. I had never heard of this before. But, I pursued it and have done quite well in xxxxxxx.

Anyway, the point is… use this time you have to your advantage instead of dwelling on the negative side of things. Be positive… You are the one who has the power to change your direction. You have the power to do whatever is necessary to succeed…. more school… whatever…
