Makes sense, but then why have so many non-controversial bland commentators like Andersoon Cooper, John King, Blitzer, Brazile, etc.

Marketing:

Andersoon Cooper, John King - sex symbols (well, of a sort - good looking mature men who are attractive to women)

Blitzer - looking older, and the older one looks the more trustworthy they seem

Brazile - market segment chasing.
