Yeah, my dad instilled the mechanical gene in me from a very tender age. His intent, with my sister as well as myself, was that we would be able to take care of ourselves on our own whenever necessary.

Wife’s dad gave her an old Nash Metropolitan. He made her change a perfectly good tire before he gave her the keys. We did the same thing with our daughters.
