The Sherman was a more efficient tank than the Panther? Huh?

The Sherman had only two things going for it; numbers and mechanical reliability. To the Panthers all those Shermans were a ‘target rich environment’ not outnumbered. Even the Firefly couldn’t quite match the Panther.
