The neo-Confederate “Lost Cause” myth is collapsing before our eyes. It seems inadequate to call this a subculture or a worldview, it is in fact a world unto itself, one built on mountains of falsehood and delusion.
The ramifications are staggering, penetrating into every aspect of American culture and politics.

That seems to be a premature declaration of victory. What appears to be happening is that the most blatantly visible symbols of this ideology will finally be removed from state government sites. Useful progress, if it really happens, but a long way from the end of Civil War revisionism.

Even at the symbolic level, the victory would not be complete until the relevant state flags are changed (GA and MS, IIRC).
