The GOP has basically told the DOD to drop “global warming” and “climate change” from their vocabulary and thus from any military planning. Why? Because the DOD has been one of the bigger voices on Capital Hill about the need to plan for the changes that global warming will do to the globe. For example, the coming resource wars when nations begin fighting over limited supplies of fresh water.

As a matter of military necessity, DOD has to plan for a navigable Arctic Ocean due to global warning. I’d like to see a serious collision between GOP apparatchiks and military professionals on this point.
