Um, no. Congress is giving Amtrak all the money it requested for rail safety programs and the House Transportation Committee has scheduled a hearing on this derailment. If the NTSB is calling for safety improvements, then there’s a good chance the money will be found. But it must be noted that such funds would be an additional request, and not the restoration of funds cut by Congress.
