I missed yesterday’s discussion, but I just went back and your comments that others in this thread have pointed out. You find the name “Cordoba” chilling? That’s proof of your ignorance.

At the time of the Caliphate, Cordoba was the most civilized, most cultured, most peaceful place in the entire world, with the biggest library, the first-ever university, a place where all three Abrahamic faiths lived and studied and conducted commerce cooperatively.

Cordoba during the caliphate was the most welcoming place in the world for Jews; we only came under threat there when Christians retook the territory. Cordoba during the caliphate is where the greatest Jewish scholar of all time, Maimonedes, wrote and presented his commentaries on the Talmud.

Cordoba is the absolute *perfect* name for an Islamic cultural center in a 20% Jewish city like NY.
