From the outside looking in (not Jewish here) but there’s been a long history of stereotyping Jews and money. I honestly don’t think Omar meant it this way at all and I think her apology bears fruit of that. I don’t know though. It is unfortunate that Anti-Semitism I think is way too often thrown out critics of Israel and Israeli policy.

I agree that it could be “seen” that way and people like David Duke say it out right. I don’t think she “meant” it that way but people did take it that way. It is unfortunate that being critical of Israel and Israeli policy is seen as anti-semitic but I also believe that the leadership of Israel (Netanyahu) and the right wing in Israel like it that way. Criticize their bombing campaigns? Anti-semitic. Criticize civilian killings? Anti-Semitic. And yeah I would be just as critical of Palestinians trying to say I was anti-palestinian if I criticized their suicide bombers etc.
