My question is, is that 21 years TOTAL or 21 years per offense? If they charge him with each count individually, he would never see the light of day again.

Also, the Norwegian government could easily extend his stay in prison by calling him a threat to the public, or by saying that they’re keeping him in prison so that no one else will kill him, given all the anger against him in Norway right now.

My understanding, and I may be mistaken, given that I never gave a thought to Norwegian sentencing procedures until this past Friday, is that he cannot be sentenced to more than a total of 21 years, however, he can be detained for as long as he is considered a danger to society AFTER that, without formal sentencing.

Anyone who understands this better, feel free to correct me.
