well as rule of thumb if you get to the point of homelessness you are not that socially responsible… but someone may help you to do so. It happens.

Homelessness comes primarly from mental illness dude, talk to any social worker
And if our mental health resources in America are staggeringly underfunded (which they are) then people who don’t have the mental stability to keep themselves hooked up in society, they wind up homeless
I LITERALLY friends’ former clients (they worked in mental health proper, I worked MR/DD with mentially ill MR/DD people) in mental health on the street, panhandling. off their meds, no shelter, no prospects, no nothing.
It has nothing to do with ‘social responsibility”. Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, all the usual republican cliches, they don’t make any sense, because you can’t will away schizophrenia or organic brain disorders with low taxes and conservative ideology
