He had a head wound which was bleeding pretty bad but the ambulance crew was most concerned about lower back injuries. A very sad commentary on our healthcare system is one of the first things he said to me was he has insurance. When the EMT’s arrived they had to ask him which insurance he has, if he has his card and which hospital he can be taken to which will cover him. That’s fucked up.

Insurance=nice hospital

No insurance=poor/bad hospital

They are really classified as such. And it sucks.
