At that age (and a tad older) , I was EXTREMELY unconfident around girls. I couldn’t even ask a friend to ask a friend to approach a girl for me. Even when someone would tell me that ‘she” liked me I was too shy to act on it

Yeah, that’s pretty much how I was. I’m sure there were girls that liked me, but all of my friends - the ones who could’ve told me - were just as shy and awkward around the womenfolk as I was. I didn’t have any real female friends until I went to college.
