Most of them simply cannot pay more than their income, or 70% of their income, to buy a plan outright. They just go without.
That would be me. The only medical insurance I have right now is through the university and through my auto insurance policy, and those are for catastrophic reasons only. I can’t afford a personal policy at all.
I’m okay if I ever end up in the emergency room or get into a car wreck, but for regular doctor or dental visits, I pay everything out of pocket.
