I would see it as a positive development. People should stop “trusting” wikipedia.

Back in college, every professor I had told me the same thing: “Wikipedia does not count as a valid source.” Using the sites linked to by Wiki, provided they were themselves valid, was okay. But Wiki was never considered valid, because any yahoo could use his spare time to write whatever he liked and have it sit there for minutes to hours before somebody realized the alteration and fixed it.
