As Walter pointed out earlier, there is no way for the POTUS to know everything that is going on for any given day. This was a small PR affair which had been planned for weeks. If he had been told and a few other adults were with him, they would have reached the inescapable conclusion that this was a bad idea.

Anyone who works in large organizations knows how this sort of thing can happen. The POTUS is vicariously responsible—but it is not likely that he had foreknowledge of this particular event.

So you want me to believe that the president didn’t know that his personal aircraft was going to be gone to NYC? Seriously? Knowing full well that he can’t fly anywhere with it being gone?
