Stay safe! Dogs are good! What else do you do “special” now that you are living in “bear country”? We have snap tight lids on the trash cans, to keep the critters out. No bears here…

Nothing. Snap on lids, but that doesn’t stop much from happening, doesn’t stop bears from smelling food, and if they want into the cans, they can get in. We are keeping the cans in the driveway now, and not on the porch with the six foot fence, since two weeks ago, a bear simply swiped through two parts of the fence to get to the garbage. I posted pictures on LGF, it was a mess.

You’re right, the best thing is the dogs. And the red heeler has actually chased a bear and was snapping at it’s back legs. Bear looked at him like “dogs aren’t supposed to do that” and ran off.
