How do you figure? There’s only one reason they wouldn’t want the vote to come up before the mid-terms and it certainly isn’t because they’re afraid of losing repub/independent votes.

Republican votes are secure, regardless of what happens. The GOP is betting that actual independents are as homophobic as they are, so they’re leaking rumors that Democrats are afraid of losing the homophobe vote, but actual independents aren’t likely to get their panties in a twist over this issue.
