It’s possible that Erdogan (via his tantrum in Davos) is revving up his Islamist base in preparation for new parliamentary elections…major friction between Islamists and secularists (and the Turkish General Staff) and he may be positioning his Islamist allies to take advantage of all the attention generated.

If anyone knows the dynamics of the Arab (Palestinian) / Jewish conflict in that area of the world, it’s the (Ottoman) Turks. Read nothing more into his tantrum. It was for domestic political consumption only…Erdogan and the Turks could care less about the Palestinians or any other oppressed minority. Just ask the Kurds or the Armenians. Peres should be given a medal for showing restraint.
