I guess I disagree. The whole purpose of doing “triage” is that there are “patients” who have a better chance of survival than others.

This is a grim “death panel”-type of subject… but in reality we (collectively) do this everyday, in our social (government) actions and spending.

I propose that we, as a matter of policy, make decisions accepting that there will at least be some sea rise, for example.

There is an analogy here to the healthcare debate. In our society we expect young people who need little healthcare to spend money on insurance anyway… as for one day when they are older they will be the recipients of healthcare.

Our government has had a program in place to do assessments of impacts from climate change. I’m saying we should act on those… and bring the cost of change into today, rather than waiting 30 or 40 years.
