Yeah, if any gun nut thinks the revolution was won and the British defeated by unorganized private citizens who hoarded weapons for themselves and fought for independence completely by themselves without any colonial government oversight, intervention, or leadership, their interpretation of history is as bad as Palin’s and their implied self-importance even bigger than hers.

Washington’s Continental Army was a highly disciplined regular force even by the standards of the time. He even had the dubious services of actual Prussian drill sergeants (brought in by Baron von Steuben) to get the recruits in line.
