We’ve, in the past year, hired four people who didn’t show up for their first day of work because the job they wanted came through. We were grateful they didn’t show up, because we would have wasted even ten minutes on them when they had their eye on the door the whole time.

Two of them tried to come back because it “didn’t work out”. They were surprised when we passed on their generous offer of return.
