Converting political foes is like trying to tear a cotton ball in half. If you pull to hard, the resistance is great and the task seems impossible. But if you tug lightly, its much easier.

Good analogy, but it only applies to political foes who haven’t plunged over the cliff of the conservative cult. As Renaissance_Man has so eloquently pointed out on many an occasion, they care about hating liberals and nothing else. They’ll even accept harm to themselves if it means destroying something they think liberals like. Attempting to reason with people like this is like trying to pick up a dog turd from the clean end.
