There are apparently two kinds of grits - regular corn grits, and hominy grits. The latter have undergone the nixtamalization that makes corn into hominy(aka pozole). Dried hominy, ground coarse = hominy grits. Hence, “hominy grits can you eat?”

Missed the pun until just now. The “?” only makes sense when read as a pun and it initially left me perplexed.
