What’s boardroom feminism?
Well, it’s a bad phrase.
I guess it’s the marriage of “feminism” (stripped down to career advancement) to consumerism. Maybe a slogan of “women should be just as able as men to assume exploitative positions in society”. To me it’s typified by the likes of Bachmann and Palin.
I don’t think it’s a position that’s actually espoused by many people who would describe themselves as a “feminist”, but I do think it’s how capitalism essentially tries to co-opt and defuse feminism.
Please feel free to disagree and challenge my views - it’s not something that I have particularly clear in my head.
