I’m thinking of its inspirational value for the masses, Cato, not for such as we.
We live in the age of the microcast masses, sad to say. What radio did for mass propaganda, the web etc is doing at the individualized level. It is now possible to live in a bubble more or less that confirms and even deepens one’s own prejudices. And no coercive state power is required to effect this miracle.
I tell ya, mass literacy was the beginning of the end…..
