Exactly the premise of the book I was talking about. Anoyne who thinks indigenous people were “just living living in teepees” is an idiot.
I don’t know tons about the central Ohio native peoples, but my understanding is the Adena native peoples had more going for it than teepees and roaming around. They had actual constructed houses made of tree limbs and bark and lived in fairly permanent villages. They had tools and fabrics and lived well above an animal lifestyle. And this was 1000 to 200 BC.
