I agree, Bush was the object of some pretty unhinged rage, but lets not pretend that there was a pretty widely-accepted (on the right) conspiracy theory that Clinton had people killed as governor. Entire media outlets were created to tar the man.

Similar things happened with Bush, to be sure. But lets not forget that.

On a slightly different note, I am irritated that Bush won’t even say a single word on the subject, and he worked with the Imam in question when he was president. He paid him as an adviser. That’s not just staying quiet, that’s throwing him under the bus.

What good could he do? All he’d accomplish would be to make his party look bad, and he won’t do that. He’s a loyal party man, like his father before him.
