I watch a guy who does “Let’s Plays” on Youtube.

I’ve seen videos of his pulled because some asshole would decide to file a fake/fraudulent DCMA notice/whatever it’s called.

I’ve seen that on BoardGameGeek. Someone made a video on how to play a game seeking to help others who want to play it and posted it on YouTube. Got yanked due to a DMCA claim by the manufacturer of the game, so the guy simply refuses to waste time attempting to do the same for any other of their distributed games.

Sounds like some sort of robo-search of YouTube or other open content sites. If reference found the kneejerk reaction is to file DMCA or whatever is appropriate to get the content pulled without making any attempt to see what the context of the reference is. Results in loss of sales, fanbase, and a general belief that your company is a bunch of jerks in various circles.
