It didn’t used to be just an attitude-it was the law. Rape only applied to forcing sex on a woman that was not your wife.
Women were also legally required to keep house and men were legally required to support their wives financially (though since no particular level of support was specified, nor level of housekeeping, for that matter, it was pretty unenforceable.)
If a man moved and his wife didn’t go with him, she was deemed to have deserted him, even if she stayed right where she was. When my grandfather became a citizen in 1908, my grandmother automatically became a citizen too. And so on.

People would do well to learn a little history before dismissing feminism. As for these “men’s rights” guys, all I can say is that they are sad, sad people.
