My poster design prof in 1974 spent his entire departmental supplies budget of $500 on Helvetica Letraset. I didn’t realize back then how advanced he was.

Rub on lettering and the Kroy machine. So tedious. Of course I always preferred that over LeRoy lettering. I suppose everybody remembers the Optima font fad which is a good font but because of its overuse it got boring rather fast. Perhaps I’m just associating it with work. Right now my favorties are Impact, and Swiss 721 (condensed).
