Wow! Thankyou for posting this, I really enjoyed the color pictures. In color, the airmen look like kids, in B&W not so much. If I remember correctly, the B-17 was lightly armed in the nose, which the Luftwaffe pilots quickly figured out. Later in the war the bombers were equipped “chin turrets”
