So, when do they ever get any time to get around to, you know, doing some churchy stuff? Seems they’re enjoying pissing everybody else way too much lately. We may have another burgeoning Westboro Baptist Church on our hands here…

For some fundamentalist Christians, this is doing churchy stuff. I suspect that you’re over all knowledge of American Christianity is very narrow.

Churchy stuff for many Christians in at least making it to church on Easter and Christmas, for a good group of other Christians, it’s going every Sunday… and then the you could say a third group is more active, possibly doing church every week and a bible study and many a gathering on Wed.

But there is a fringe, like Dove, the fourth estate of Christians if you want to call them that, who are “very active”, in the sense that they don’t really see any difference between their religious duties and their civic duties. Add a touch of exclusivity to the mix, top it off with supersucessionism and you have a really nasty brew.

The Dove people really fit into the 4th category. Just classifying “churchy” stuff right along with Westboro styled Christian activism is broad brushed and wrong. There are millions of supporters in the liberal camp, black, whites and others, who do churchy things ever day, and you don’t have to worry about them burning something on your front lawn.
